Our Early Intervention Program can help identify and treat substance use issues as early as possible. We connect patients with the assessment and care to help minimize the impact of addiction and get them the care and recovery services they need for themselves.

We offer evidence-based treatment for any addiction. An Early Intervention Program (EIP), inpatient and outpatient recovery support, STI testing, opioid addiction care, integrated mental healthcare and our Street Medicine program offer compassionate and personalized plans for every adult in recovery.

Care That Treats Addiction and Mental Health Together
A multidisciplinary team brings addiction treatment and mental healthcare together in one program. Adults receive compassionate, evidence-based care for substance use, behavioral disorders and support for depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns. We offer individual and group therapy, opioid treatment and ongoing planning to support recovery.

Get Support Early and Without Barriers
We provide free walk-in rapid HIV and hepatitis C tests, help from Peer Recovery Specialists and connections to substance use care, infectious disease care and primary care. Harm reduction tools are available, including naloxone and fentanyl test strips. We also offer help and referrals for those affected by human trafficking.

Expert Addiction Care During Hospital Stays
Our addiction consultation service cares for hospitalized patients with substance use disorders. A team of addiction physicians, social workers and peer support specialists helps address complex withdrawal, start medications such as buprenorphine or methadone and create a personalized plan to connect you with ongoing addiction treatment.

Coordinated Care for HIV and Opioid Use Disorder
Our team provides buprenorphine treatment to ease cravings and withdrawal while you receive ongoing HIV care. Doctors, nurses and counselors work with you to build a personalized plan. We can also connect you with help for housing, transportation and other daily needs, making it easier to stay in treatment and focus on your goals.

Our team provides acute and chronic care, wound care, harm reduction supplies and naloxone. We help people connect with primary care and substance use treatment without pressure or shame.

Support in the Emergency Department
Our Early Intervention Program works alongside emergency department teams to reach people during critical moments. In one year, our team:
- Supported 5,536 patients
- Completed 2,417 health risk assessments
- Provided 1,291 HIV tests
- Connected 193 people with HIV and 1,142 with hepatitis C to care
- Linked 466 people to substance use treatment
- Held 379 peer support meetings
Program Reach
Care Beyond Hospital Walls
Care does not stop at the hospital doors. In the community, our team reached 525 people through outreach at needle exchanges, health fairs, and student events. We provided 298 free HIV tests in these settings, helping people learn their status earlier and connect to care in places where they already feel safe and supported.
Harm Reduction
Tools That Save Lives
Harm reduction helps prevent overdose, reduce infections, and keep people safer while they work toward recovery. Our program distributed 1,231 naloxone kits, 2,027 fentanyl test strips, and 168 wound care kits, providing practical tools that protect health and often serve as the first step toward trusting relationships and ongoing care.
Building What Comes Next
Training Peer Support Leaders
Recovery is stronger when people are supported by those who understand their journey. We launched a Peer Internship Program to train the next generation of recovery support workers—expanding our capacity to connect people to care, strengthen outreach, and ensure compassionate support continues well into the future.
