Proton Therapy for Gastrointestinal Cancers
The Proton Therapy Center at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center offers advanced radiation therapy for complex gastrointestinal cancers. We use Varian ProBeam® pencil beam technology to target cancer cells while protecting healthy tissue and organs. Proton therapy can lead to fewer short-term side effects and long-term complications than traditional radiation.
Innovative Liver Cancer Treatment
Hepatic Artery Infusion (HAI) Chemotherapy
HAI chemotherapy is used for colorectal and bile duct cancers that have spread to the liver or for liver cancers too large for surgery. An implantable pump delivers treatment right to the tumor, reducing side effects like nausea and hair loss and allowing higher drug doses to improve outcomes.
Nonoperative Rectal Cancer Care
Nonoperative Management for Select Patients
Our specialists provide nonoperative management for rectal cancer to help certain patients safely avoid major surgery. This approach can maintain strong tumor control while lessening recovery time and supporting quality of life.
