Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Clinic

Take Control Over Your Prostate Cancer Care Plan

The first of its kind in the Greater Cincinnati region, the UC Health Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Clinic was created for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer to learn about treatment options and make decisions based on what works best for them.

Together, with a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in mind, our care team provides a personalized treatment plan for each patient. By individually reviewing clinical history, radiology images, and histology, the team is able to present the most appropriate treatment options to each patient – allowing them to ultimately make a treatment decision that best fits their needs. Having access to physicians from different specialties at the same time, allows patients to get detailed information about all treatment options on the same day.

Patients are seen in the UC Health Barrett Cancer Center, the primary adult outpatient treatment facility of the UC Cancer Institute. All ‘standard of care’ treatment options for prostate cancer, ranging from robotic surgery to radiation therapy, are available to patients. In addition, as an academic health system, clinical trials and other “outside the box” treatment options are available for select patients who qualify. Focal therapy for prostate cancer, an emerging treatment for targeted, localized prostate cancer, is also being offered.

With this approach, the clinic serves as a portal for giving patients control over their care plan – while making the best decision for their lifestyle.

Who We Treat

From initial diagnosis to recurrence after treatment, the Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Clinic will work to provide a personalized treatment plan for patients at all stages throughout their journey with this disease.

Our Team

Patients that come to the Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Clinic are being introduced to the Survivorship Program at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute after they have received treatment. Partnering with UCCI, allows access to health care professionals that are knowledgeable about survivorship care and provide resources and support services as part of cancer care.
